Long Bio
David Peredun is a session drummer, multi-instrumentalist, and dedicated music educator from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. His career spans over a decade, with a diverse range of performances, recordings, and teaching experiences. What began as an inability to sit still flourished into a lifelong passion for music. David’s journey began with a deep love for rhythm, which evolved through years of dedicated practice and exploration. He graduated top of his class in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Algoma University, and taught there for a number of years before moving to a music directing position for the Canadian Musician’s Cooperative in 2025.
Musical Style and Influences
Drawing from the powerful drumming of early rock heroes (Keith Moon, John Bonham, Bill Bruford, Dennis Chambers) to players that sculpted his intro to heavy metal (Joey Jordison, Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan, Neil Sanderson), and finally the progressive players that he discovered throughout university (Matt Garstka, Bill Stewart, Marcus Gilmore) not to mention drummers that he looked up to online (Luke Holland, Troy Wright, Cobus Potgieter). David’s drumming is best described as animalistic, powerful, forward-thinking and modern.
Career Highlights
David has experience performing a variety of venues, sharing the stage with a variety of artists (The Tea Party, I Mother Earth, Headstones, Bif Naked, Sam Roberts Band, Violent Femmes, Fleet Foxes, Everclear and Moneen), showcasing his ability to bring powerful, precise energy to large stages.

“David is an exemplar young professional. I have had the pleasure of recording him in my studio multiple times. His discipline, attitude and ability is top tier. He is one of my favorite collaborators and a true friend.”
“David filled in for a band at one of my events after their drummer couldn’t do the show. No notice, no heads up-just barely enough time for them to have a quick rehearsal before the show. If you were an audience member, you never would’ve known he wasn’t the actual drummer of the band. He saved the days for the band and ultimately helped us carry out this event as planned. Super professional, talented and wicked chops!”
“David plays with a maturity beyond his years.”
“Having David in the studio is such a great time. His playing is incredible, and his musical knowledge, vocabulary and use of chops were awesomely complimentary to the parts played on the records. David’s ideas are forward thinking and modern in approach. Great guy, easy going, and got right down to business, making for a fast and easy session. A pleasure to work with, can’t wait to do it again!”
